Sustainable Olympic Season: Los Angeles Commits to Eco-Friendly Approach for 2028

Organizers of the 2024 Paris Olympics had sustainability on lock and the upcoming host city – Los Angeles - is gearing up to follow in Paris’ footsteps.
An “authentically Los Angeles” Games is the aim, with mayor Karen Bass underlining the city’s diversity as well as outlining plans to make the event a “no-car Games”.
This means that attendees will be required to take public transportation to all sporting events during the Olympic experience. As a result, the city is currently working on building out a better transportation system and a greener Los Angeles.
More than 3,000 buses will be required, where they will borrow used buses from around the country. LA organizers have also committed to using existing venues for the 2028 Games which will help to minimize the overall carbon footprint in the execution of the next Olympics.
Hopefully this trend will continue in other areas of the Games, and we can’t wait to hear more of LA’s sustainability plans in the months to come!
